Choosing a Real Estate Agent

When buying or selling a home, you should work with a real estate agent who has the experience and expertise to handle your transaction with a minimum amount of hassles and stress. You should look for technical competence, negotiation and interpersonal skills when choosing a real estate agent.  The McNabs have over 18 years experience as top producing agents.  That is what you need on your side, beware of new agents!   One reason you hire a real estate agent is to minimize your liability in the sale.  Make sure you get an agent that has a good understanding of the legal issues related to the contracts you will be signing.

Interview real estate agents and ask several questions.  How long have you been in the business?  How many homes do you sell?  How do your services differ from other agents? Do you have a broker/owner who is available to help and serves as a backup person if you are not available?

Keep in mind that there are no "right" answers to these questions.  For instance it can be bad if an agent sells too little homes or too many home.   You should look for personal professional service from someone you can trust to lead you through the process.
