TDY?

TDY stands for temporary duty. When someone in the US Army comes to Fort Huachuca for training for less than 6 months, that is called TDY. These soldiers get an allowance for housing off post.

A TDY rental is a property that is fully furnished and all the utilities are paid by the owner. Because of the short term of the leases, furnishings and utilities the rents collected are quite a bit higher than market value for a long term lease. Each tenant pays this amount, so if you have two or three soldiers in one house you are getting far above market value and a big positive cash flow.
